For the Humanities curriculum, TSA divides students into Division II (9^th and 10^th grades) and Division III (11^th and 12^th grades). Students in Division II and Division III will approach humanities from different perspectives. In Division II students are asked to have an inward focus and consider what they personally believe in and how they understand the connections between world cultures. In order to address these questions, these courses integrate literature and social studies. In Division III students are asked to become more specialized and to evaluate and analyze literature and social studies as discrete disciplines. In order to achieve this, literature and social studies are taught as separate courses.

Division II classes are mixed groups of 9^th and 10^th graders and Division III classes are mixed groups of 11^th and 12^th graders.
